FROM SEAN
There had been a night when a majority of the players at Shane's table were wagering maximum-limit bets. Every player, except the woman on third base who played one green-chip, had refused a hit on their hands; the odds were in favor of the dealer busting. The inexperienced player had nothing at stake with a twenty-five-dollar bet, so she took a card. Sure enough, her hand broke. She had taken the dealer's bust card in the process. The players had lost a total of eighteen hundred dollars on that hand when the dealer hit to twenty-one, something Shane saw coming long before it happened.
RESPONSE
One night, most of the players at Shane's table bet the limit. Everyone refused a hit, except an inexperienced woman on third base who risked only twenty-five dollars. The odds favored the dealer busting, but the woman took a card, and sure enough, it busted her instead of the dealer. The dealer hit twenty-one, and losses totaled eighteen hundred dollars on that hand, as Shane predicted.
I cut it by over a third. Seems a heckuva lot clearer to me without all the clutter.
